Waiters/Servers:"The homemade burgers are selling great!People outside want more burgers.And they want it NOW"

Cook:"That`s not possible.My hands are full,and there are no more buns!!What do we do boss?"

Boss: "Just use normal bread to replace the buns.We can`t afford to lose our customers.They`ll probably wont notice the different."

The boss, in order to protect time limits and to get the job done,chose to lower the standard of the restaurant`s most famous homemade burgers.

But is this ethical?

I believe that anyone is capable of doing work with the highest of quality standard if properly trained.Unfortunately,workplace realities shows that we are bound by time limits,stress ,bureaucracies and policies problems which piles up push us into making the difficult decision.


Question:The situation demands you to produce a result outside of your capabilities.Do you

1.Lower the standards,achieve a much poorer result to meet datelines?
2.Ignore the datelines and such limitations ,but never lower your standards and produce high quality results?

I believe most reader would agree that the latter choice is preferable and is the right thing to do.Unfortunately choosing no 2 also means that you've decide to go against management's wish.

A difficult choice.It`s not easy to achieve a win-win situation.
